Van der Sar

Lescott Campbell S Taylor Clichy

Hleb Hargreaves Gerrard Barry

Davies McBride

Goalkeeper

Edwin Van der Sar

The Dutch keeper produced a string of vital saves to underpin United's significant victory, including stops from Adebayor and Bendtner as well as from his own players Ferdinand and Brown.

Defenders

Joleon Lescott (Everton)

Another solid performance in an excellent season for the former Wolves man, capped by scoring Everton's goal at Birmingham.

Sol Campbell (Portsmouth):

Solid and commanding at the back for Pompey as they shut out Newcastle at Fratton Park.

Steven Taylor (Newcastle United)

The Geordie centre-back was the pick of the Newcastle defenders as the Magpies' extended their unbeaten run and kept another clean-sheet at Portsmouth. Taylor has impressed during a torrid season for the Tyneside club, and was reliable and alert against Pompey.

Gael Clichy (Arsenal)

Impressive defensively and always looking to go forward and help build attacks as Arsenal strove to win at Old Trafford.

Midfielders

Alexander Hleb (Arsenal)

The Belarussian was outstanding, his mazy runs and close control repeatedly threatening to create something for the Gunners.

Owen Hargreaves (Manchester United)

His brilliantly executed free-kick for the Red Devils' winning goal was the icing on the cake of another superb performance by the England midfielder, following on from his tour de force against Rome. His tackling and passing helped United emergent triumphant from one of their toughest tests of the season.

Steven Gerrard (Liverpool)

The Liverpool skipper's drive, vision and blossoming partnership with Fernando Torres gave the Reds a decisive edge at home to Blackburn. The England man scored one, made one for Torres and was denied a decent shout for a penalty in another fine all-round performance.

Gareth Barry (Aston Villa)

Villa followed their 4-0 trouncing of Bolton with a 6-0 demolition job on Derby, with good performances all over the park and Gareth Barry again impressing, scoring another goal and being involved in most of the good things Villa did.

Forwards

Kevin Davies (Bolton Wanderers)

The striker defenders hate to play against had a field day against West Ham, scoring the only goal of the game, being denied on the line on another couple of occasions and underlining how much he'll be missed when his two-match ban kicks in - the result of a somewhat harsh tenth booking of the season, the only blemish on a man-of-the-match performance.

Brian McBride (Fulham)

The Cottagers deservedly won their first away game in 34 attempts, and US striker McBride set them on their way by firing home a Simon Davies cross from close range on 23 minutes. He then went close to netting a spectacular second when he met David Healy's right-wing cross with a stunning volley that crashed against the crossbar from 15 yards, and his presence continued to unsettle the Reading defence all afternoon.

On The Bench:

Chris Kirkland (Wigan Athletic): Kept Chelsea at bay with some crucial saves as the Latics earned a surprise point at Stamford Bridge.

Richard Dunne (Manchester City): A typically resolute display by Dunne, who led by example as City survived sustained Sunderland pressure before sneaking the points late on.

Patrice Evra (Manchester United): Alert and athletic at the back for United, pacy and dangerous going forward.

Stylian Petrov (Aston Villa): the Bulgarian midfielder has suddenly found some form, which he maintained against Derby, scoring Villa's third with a long-range shot that combined vision, audacity and technique to perfection.

Ashley Young (Aston Villa): Another fine exhibition of wing play as Villa enjoyed themselves, Young opening the floodgates with the first goal of the rout.

Mauro Zarate (Birmingham): Only a brief cameo coming off the bench, but capped with a goal by the young Argentine, his fourth so far.

Wayne Rooney (Manchester United): Worked tirelessly for United and might have scored on two separate occasions but for Lehmann's reactions.

Nihat çok formda görünüyor. Yİne golünü atmış, asistini yapmış. İnşallah bu formu haziranda da devam eder..
