Serie A - Beckham agrees Milan loan deal
David Beckham will join AC Milan on loan from Los Angeles Galaxy in January after the deal was sealed with his lawyers, the Serie A club said.
"Milan announces David Beckham's arrival on loan. Agreement has been reached and it is official," said a statement on the club's website.
"The English player will be a Rossonero from January 7 2009."
No details were given on when the loan deal would end.
However, Milan's sporting director Umberto Gandini told Sky Sports News: " Beckham has a commitment to go back to the MLS and I think he will do that."
Since news of the proposed deal broke this month, Beckham, Galaxy and MLS all said he would return to Los Angeles for the start of the new season in late March.
The 33-year-old is joining Milan to keep up his fitness during the United States close season and stay in contention for an England squad place.
He has 107 caps and needs two more to beat Bobby Moore's England record for an outfield player.
The MLS regular season finished at the weekend with Galaxy failing to make the playoffs.
England coach Fabio Capello, who dropped Beckham while they were together at Real Madrid, said his former club Milan were doing good business.
But he did not say whether the midfielder's loan move would help his international prospects.
"Milan have made a good addition," Capello said.
"At Madrid I left him out of the squad because he had signed a contract with Los Angeles but he continued to come on the field and train and I put him back in the team.
"He is a very serious lad, very sensible, a professional. People think he is a playboy off the field, it's not true at all."
Milan chief executive Adriano Galliani said earlier that Beckham's lawyers were coming to the city for talks rather than next week as planned.
He hinted a deal was some way off but in the end negotiations were wrapped up swiftly.
Italian media had said issues with the image rights of Beckham, one of the most famous and marketable players ever, had caused an initial hold up last week.
Seven-time European champions Milan, who failed to qualify for the Champions League this season after finishing fifth last term, moved above city rivals Internazionale into third after a 2-1 home win over Siena.

Şeytanın bacağını kıracağımızı umuyorduk, ama ben de sizler gibi büyük hayal kırıklığı yaşadım ve üzüldüm.'' diye konuştu.
Adnan Polat, Fenerbahçe tarafından dostça karşılandıklarını, Fenerbahçe Kulübü Başkanı Aziz Yıldırım'ın kendilerini kapıda karşıladığını da ifade ederek, maç esnasında şeref tribününde yaşanan olaylar hakkında şunları söyledi: "Mahmut Uslu, bana ve yönetim kurulu arkadaşlarıma küfür etmesi ortalığı karıştırdı. Her ne kadar sonrasında yapmadığını söylese de bazı Fenerbahçeli yöneticiler , sonradan bu durumla ilgili bizden özür diledi. Bu küfürler edilmediyse, neyin özrü dilendi? Biz, Fenerbahçe ile olan dostluğumuzu ve güzel ilişkiyi devam ettirmek istiyoruz. Kendileri, yöneticilerine gereken ikazları yapacaklardır.''
Galatasaray'ın, Turkcell Süper Lig'de şampiyonluğun en iddialı takımı olduğunu dile getiren Polat, alınan sonuçların kendisini de memnun etmediğini belirterek, ''Geçmiş seneleri düşündüğümüzde, önümüzde olan rakiplerimiz hep vardı. Hep dereyi görmeden paçaları sıvadılar. Önümüzde daha çok hafta var. Şampiyonluğun en büyük adayıyız. Kimse kendini şimdiden şampiyon ilan etmesin. Kulüpte 32 milyon YTL'lik bütçe öngörülmüş, gerçekleşen 35 milyon 700 bin YTL. Yani 3 milyon 600 bin YTL fazla harcamamız var, ancak faiz giderlerimize bakıldığında, kur farkı ve banka komisyonları 9 milyon 250 bin YTL öngörülürken, şu an 24 milyon 560 bin YTL durumuna gelindi. Manchester United have come second in the list of the world's richest clubs, while Real Madrid stay top for the fourth year in a row.
Deloitte's Football Money League, based on financial information for the 2007/08 season, features seven English clubs in the top 20 positions.
The authors said that United would have been top of the Money League if the pound was still at June 2007 levels.
Chelsea, Arsenal and Liverpool are fifth, sixth and seventh respectively.
Exchange rate factor
"If the exchange rate value of the pound had not depreciated, there would have been nine, rather than seven English clubs in the top 20 and Manchester United would have topped the Money League ahead of Real Madrid," said Dan Jones, partner in the Sports Business Group at Deloitte.

The list had been headed by Manchester United for eight years until Real Madrid deposed them.
"Whilst Real Madrid's 4% revenue growth in 2007/08 is more modest than recent years, the club has now doubled its revenues since 2002 and enjoys a lead of 41m euros [£32.5m] over Manchester United," said Mr Jones.
"With the club having announced that it is budgeting for revenues of 400m euros in 2008/09, it will be difficult for rivals to replace Real at the top of the Money League next year."

The other English clubs in the top 20 are Tottenham Hotspur (14th), Newcastle United (17th) and Manchester City (20th).
All the top 20 clubs represent Europe. Germany and Italy have four clubs each in the top 20, Spain and France have two clubs each.

Celtic, Valencia and Werder Bremen dropped out of the Money League, while Stuttgart and Manchester City climbed back.
The top 20 clubs' collective revenue rose by 6% to 3.9bn euros in 2007/08.
'Challenging environment'
The list's authors said that this year's Money League is based on figures available largely before the global economic downturn started.
"Whilst next year's Money League will show some early signs of how the changing economic environment is affecting the game's top clubs, it will not be until 2009/10 that there is a fuller picture of the impact," they said.
However, Paul Rawnsley, director in the Sports Business Group, said: "The unique nature of the football industry will enable major clubs to be relatively resistant to the economic downturn.
"Clubs' match attendances are holding up well and clubs in each of England, Germany, France and Spain have TV deals secured well into the future at enhanced levels.
"Despite the challenging economic environment, the Premier League has just secured a record value for live domestic broadcast rights for the seasons 2010/11 to 2012/13, up 4% to £1.782bn.
"Given the worldwide popularity of the Premier League there is likely to be further uplift in value from overseas rights when they are marketed later this year."
